Tips for Small Dickens Village Displays
If you are just getting started decorating with villages, think small. You don’t need much to create and interesting and charming Christmas display.
Tip #1
Choose one to three Department 56 Dickens Village buildings.
I think that one is really all you need to get started. And there are so many different buildings to choose from, you are sure to find one that appeals to your personality.
For example, if you are partial to a pint now and then, there are several pubs in the Dickens series you might find fun.
Tip #2
Add Department 56 coordinating Dickens Village figurines. These accessories are reasonably priced and add so much character to the display.
Also remember that figurines don’t have to be used to accessorize the building. They tell such great stories that they can be displayed on their own, like in the corner of a side table or mantel.
Tip #3
Experiment with the position of your buildings. Instead of displaying all the pieces on one level, try positioning building on different levels. Create tiers using books or boxes.
