Colonial Village Christmas Houses by Lefton

Lefton introduced the Colonial Village Christmas houses in 1987, a collection that includes more than 100 porcelain buildings that evoke simpler times in the early American tradition.

Like the Department 56 New England Village series, the American-style colonial architecture is reflected in the range of shops, businesses, quaint cottages homes, and travelers’ inns.

However, to find pieces of Colonial Village, you’ll have to scour secondary markets and online collectible classifieds. The series is now retired and the charming Christmas houses are highly collectible and may be hard to find.

Lefton China, was started in 1940 by George Lefton, a Hungarian immigrant, and for many years the company mainly imported porcelain from Japan and Asia into the United States. Today, the company still imports decorative porcelain but also sells collector series such as the Colonial Village Collection, the Historic American Lighthouse Collection, and the Great American Carousal Collection.

You can search secondary markets and online classified collectibles sites to look for these buildings. See our article on Department 56 Classifieds for some ideas of where to look.
