Dickens Village Series—A Christmas Carol“A Christmas Carol” village buildings and accessories were introduced by Department 56 in 2000 as a sub-series of the popular Dickens Village. It features famous moments in time from the popular and well-loved holiday classic A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. You can collect the characters and architectural landmarks from the story and stage your own scenes or vignettes. Start your Collection with Dickens Village A Christmas CarolThis series is perhaps one of the easier collections to get started on because there are only 11 current buildings and accessories. You can start by focusing on the wonderful Christmas story of the Cratchits and Tiny Tim, and watch Ebenezer Scrooge learn his lesson. Children often study this tale in school around Christmas time, so it’s especially fun for kids to help stage the various scenes in the story using the figurines and buildings. You can also easily integrate them with other Dickens Village or Victorian Christmas buildings if you decide to expand your collection and stick to the same time period.
